The majority of the time these fires r arson. We really need to make tougher punishments for this.

Many years ago, while serving on the Forest Service Engine crew at Deer Lick Guard Station, I had the privilege to be the lookout for one day there at Keller Peak.
Sorry not only for it, but for all the people and animals being impacted by these terrible fires.

The Line Fire arsonist bail set at $80, 000 only why not millions? Keep him in jail before and after the trial, and make him pay for the cost.

The Airport Fire was accidentally set by a crew sent to prevent wildfires. They need to be charged as well or the department needs to be held accountable!

If only the California government did forest management like they used to. I'm old enough to remember when we didn't have to worry about these annual fires.

Why is there political commentary on this. This is not about anyone's politics. In California it feels the majority of all fires anymore that destroy so many acres of forest land our natural beauty are started by stupid or by arsonist. It is disgraceful and enrageing. And to try to make it religious or something political is to completely ignore the fear and uncertainty of the people going thru it and the destruction of the land itself. This a non-partisan, non-faith based issue. It's the devastation of thousands of acres of land that will take close to 10 to 15 years to bounce back. With displaced people, displaced
animals, crap in the air and someone without a home.

I lived in California for 55 years, and for 55 years California burned, especially the Summer after drought busting rains. I remember one time a fire chief drove up and down the five freeway tossing time delayed devices out his window starting fires up and down California. I also remember fire explorers scouts setting a fire in the Santa Monica mountains and videotaping themselves trying to put it out hoping they would be called heroes. It burned out Malibu destroying hundreds of homes

In the last 3 years I have been evacuated 4 times. 3 fires and 1 debris flow. They tell you to leave, offer no assistance and keep you out for weeks at a time. I am poor that's why I live in the mountains...it's cheap. I have no money to spend on hotels, my family is across the country and I will never impose on my friends. I refuse to leave until I must. You run me off it costs me thousands of dollars and I find out my home was more than 8 miles from the fire. Just plain tired of this nonsense.

If guilty, life imprisonment, no possibility of parole.

This is the #1 reason I left California last year after living there for 48 years. I got sick and tired of dealing with the fires when I lived in Northern California. I don't know how people can continue to live like this, because year after year more and more fires continue to burn out of control all over California!😢😢

If there were no harsher consequences, “crimes” would happen years after years. The innocent people would be the ones who suffered, not the “criminals”.

Not really. Cuz I think once you leave the cops don't let you back up to your house. And that's a big problem
