I did the 2 test route to get my CCNA. For new techs' it's definitely a no brainer.

Great advice on recertification too, add more "strings" to your bow via other tracks.

I agree; splitting the exam into two makes it easier plus you can get your foot in the door with the ccnet while continuing to study.

Good stuff. I am on a help desk right now and I’ve been studying vigorously for 2 months straight! CCENT here I come. I have been working theater equipment. I excelled at the wireless equipment they use so here I am.. I love troubleshooting in general and the critical thinking it involves. I’m looking to get into IT for my company. I failed my first attempt, one exam option 798/810 (
My mistake was in time management of the exam.
Harder than i expected.
I passed the 2 exam option on later week, less stressful.
My advice will be that you should expect having questions on topics you never heard before, so don't waste your time on guessing the right answer, because if you know that you have studied, you will get enough right answers overall.

I just found out about network engineering today... I have watched at least 6 hours straight of NetworkChuck since i found the channel! It is Aug 24, 2019, which means i have 6 months exactly to get CCNA R/S in 6 months before the Feb 24 2020 #CERTPOCALYPSE! 3 Days after my birthday. Time to find my first IT job, Finish ICND1 by christmas (3 months 1 day) and ICND2 by my birthday(5 months 21 days)! Thanks NetworkChuck! What crazy timing...

Am I too old to study CCNA and become a Network Engineer was my favorite video. I switched my career from Juvenile Justice to I.T. at age 40 and went to school at the same time. I completed 4 degrees (2 Master's) and a graduate certificate and obtained Security+ by the age of 47 (married with 4 children). I have realized through your video I am as old as I think I am.
