Take advice from those you wish to be like, it's really as simple as that. If you want to be like your parents, listen to them, if you want to be like your friends, listen to them, if you want to be like your teachers, listen to them.
In reality though you should listen to everyone but pick wisely what you want to implement into your life.

As a musician, the worst advice I've ever had is "have a good backup plan".

I’m training to be a kitchen manager. I would say my best advice would be:
• make sure the guests are happy and always make sure you are stocked with enough product.
• Always make sure you’re organised. Poor organisation and inconsistency leads to a loss of custom.
• put the customer first and make sure the right staff are on for important nights of business.
• make sure your staff are looked after and accommodated for but also don’t let them take kindness and understanding for weakness.
