Elementary school aide, father of 4 left speechless after $15,000 Secret Santa surprise

We will be surprising deserving people and families every day from now until Christmas with gifts unique to their circumstances.

Shane McCann is both an employee at Cloverdale Elementary School in Ammon. He is raising four children and caring for a wife with fragile health issues. Because of his family responsibilities, Shane is only able to work while his children are in school. Non-certified half-time positions in a public school do not pay enough to support a family of six.

Shane works as a playground and cafeteria aide so he can be home with his kids in the afternoon. He makes sure the children are safe every day, helps teachers and does the best he can with his circumstances.

Shane was my best friend in the world for 10 years. Sadly, he took his own life on January 29th, 2021 after some of the struggles in his personal life became too much for him. Every once in a while I come back to this video so I can still see and listen to my friend. He was a brilliant, kind human being, and it does my heart good to see so many people in the comments recognizing how amazing he was. The world is a far poorer, darker place now that he's not in it. It's hard to believe it's been three years. I'll always remember him as the best friend and mentor I ever had. Miss you, Shane.
