To remember open strings when I started out I used "Eddie, ate, dynamite, good, bye, eddie" I hopes this helps some one... And all the best to all the guys starting out... Always remember to hang In there and remember all of us are always learning ✌️✌️🎸🎸

I’m 32 years old and spent the past 10 years putting everything aside to get ahead in my career, which really put a huge strain on my mental health. This past year I mentally disconnected from everything and everyone because I was so exhausted.
I bought a guitar 3 weeks ago, and it has really helped recover.
The first place I went to learn was YouTube, and felt overwhelmed with all the strange advice, that I decided to try on my own. You are the first person I see to give solid advice that actually helps.
Thank you!

This was exactly what I needed on my learning journey. I spent the last two years trying to learn all the open chords, and practice transitioning between them, but I skipped right past the basics like this because I didn’t have a teacher. This one is definitely going on repeat!

I see a lot of fellow beginners commenting. I appreciate these videos as well. I got my first guitar/amp bundle for Christmas. I’ve been practicing a lot every day since the beginning of January! I have fender play until March and YouTube videos. It’s so difficult to decipher what to focus on first as a beginner. There’s a million videos out there.

I'm trying to learn by myself. All I do is simple DDUUDU strumming pattern changing between C, Em, G, D, Am. So far the hardest part for me is figuring out how and what to practice as a total beginner. This helps a lot. Thank you.

Hi, Mr. Fujita
I just bought my first guitar because of you and I'm eager to learn from you more and more everyday.

As I watch you teach, one of your goals is to create a student who masters form and technique. I am a elementary school music teacher getting ready to retire and I am picking up my guitar to seriously learn. Piano is my first instrument. I needed a teacher that I could learn good, solid technique from. That’s you! Thank you for your videos. I am NOW excited to learn. ❤

UPDATE: I just found out you were John Mayers teacher. No wonder there is something special about you that I gravitated to. You are exactly what I saw…a MASTER GUITAR TEACHER. I am fortunate to have found you!

Thank you so much for giving me a direction! I was very lonely these last few years, and because I didn't know how to practice alone, I just noodled away at home... I am moving far away soon, and I hope to make friends through music. It always seemed like a distant wish, but I'm starting to believe I can make it, through your guidance. So once again, thank you so so much!

I'm 32 years old, who mainly played trumpet and piano since 7 yrs old, but I have always wanted to learn guitar since I was 10 years old. Playing an instrument, to me, is the best way to feel better overall. At 20, I've had to put it all on hold to care for others and ultimately compromise my mental health. Especially since the passing of my Mother in Jan. 2021.

I'm in a better space now where I'm putting myself first, and one way is purchasing a guitar and amp tomorrow.

This is literally the best timing ever to discover this video for my journey!

Thank you for everything that you've done and continue to do, Mr. Fujita. I look forward to learning Happy Chords and much more!

Somebody has a new student! It's amazing to hear you say comments about how you can improve as a teacher. Master the guitar then move to teaching so you can challenge yourself within the instrument after all the notes have been played 👏 👏 👏
Played for 22 years all I know is chords. So basically nothing 😆 🤣 ❤️ from Ohio!

I am a total beginner, I can sing some very basic progressions on tempo (mostly because I tried to discover them by ear) but I get into the spot that muscle memory kicks in and I play only those by instinct, instead of actually thinking what I am doing anymore. I needed this kind of video so much. Thanks for your effort in teaching us, sensei🙏😔

Great lesson even for an intermediate level player like myself because I think I forgot a lot of these basics!

Hi, Mr. Fujita, would like to thank you. I loved this way of playing in groups of 4 on the chromatic scale, trying to sustain the sound, listening. I am finding it a way to practice and be very present, attentive to everything and at the same time, attentive to every detail: the duration of the sound, not making noise. Sometimes simple things are that reveal complexity. Thank you so much from Spain, Clara.
