Have you ever had a plant cutting that wouldn't root? In this video I show you a few of the tricks I've tried that have worked for me when I can't get something to root.

I've had cuttings take up to a year to root..very discouraging. What I've learned is by dialing back humidity and giving enough moisture to sustain propagation but close to the threshold of dryness gives me the quickest roots. Also, patience is key. Great video.

Correct! Never give up. My Philodendron McDowell had zero roots propagating in water for about 2 months. I recently divided the stem into 3 nodes, and got saw roots within the week
Good luck

I’m attempting to root/clone a white oak from my childhood yard which I’ve read are very difficult to propagate.
This gives me hope to keep trying for many months. I’ve heard some people will scrape off old callus and reapply root hormone or natural root stimulation as many times as needed.

Using a heat mat DRAMATICALLY improved my rooting success both in soil and water!

Also keeping one plant that is rooting seems to send signals to the others. I think there’s something about plants sending hormones or signals and beneficial bacteria growing on healthy root systems that spread (in good ways) to the new cuttings.

I’ll have to try the perlite and golden pathos method on a syngonium albo cutting that’s been in moss for awhile. The leaf is so pretty I want to save it. I just put the ones that were rooted into leca today. By the way, the callistophylla I bought from your shop last month has 2 new leaves. Love that plant!

I wish i’d seen this earlier, so excited about your success with these plant babies. I just tossed a monstera cutting i had that had root rot and mold. How long do you leave your cuttings out to callous over, and how much water do you put with the perlite?

That took alot of patience to get them going, and to create a video of the process too. Guess every plant has it's own preferrence, some just need a little more tender loving care. :)

I have an monstera albo with new growth coming but no roots. Is it safe to plant in soil just now or shall I leave it to root. I have rooting powder but don't really use it.

If you cut the rotting part would it be bad if i put it out and dried up for an hour half and half and put it back in water? I have a monstera albo and I cut the the nodes rot area but I put it back in the water. I’m worried it will rot again. What tips do you have?

Hi, I genuinely don’t know where to get this answer but you seem like you know where you’re talking about so I have a question, I have a wisteria tree but it’s in its sapling form so it’s pretty small and has a skinny stem. I wanted to transplanted into a smaller pot but ended up cutting off all the roots so I just went with a propagation. It’s been three weeks and my plant only has these small white warts, looking things on its stem, but no roots even though I cut off all its leaves and they grow back. What should I do?

Some of those cuttings are perhaps struggling because they have too much leaf to support?
