When I am visiting Iceland I eat at bakeries. My favorite is in Hverageroi just off rt 1 ring road. All the soup, bread, and drink you can eat for about12 us dollars. There are 2 types of soups to choose from and many different types of bread. This is where a lot locals eat. You can find bakeries in most cities and small town that offer soups and bread. When I indulge I go for the fish soup. It cost more but it is great. The best fish soup that I had in Iceland is in Borgarfjaroarhreppur. If you are doing the ring road it is worth the time just take 94 to the end. This also a great view from the top or the hill. That is also where there is the best views of puffins. When I visit Iceland I am there for a month or more so my budget is tight. I remember meeting a family from France just off the boat in Saydisfordur and the told there children we came to Iceland not to eat but to see the country. That is also my view.

Nice video! I was living 3 minutes away from this Saffran restaurant and it's indeed very good and has good prices for Icelandic standards.

Great video and very informative! On my recent trip to Reykjavik, I struggled to locate affordable options aside from the hot dog option (of course). Now I know where to go when I go back to Iceland again! Thanks again

This looks like a great place! Can you recommend any places that serve beef? I know that it would be more expensive, but I am travelling with beef lovers
