Recipe below 👇⬇️👇Portokalopita, Greek traditional orange pie
• ingredients:
- 2 packs phyllo dough
- 6-8 oranges
- orange zest from the oranges you’ll use
- vanilla of your choice as needed
- 1 1/2 cups yogurt
- 8 medium or large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups sunflower or olive oil
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 cups sugar
- for the syrup:
- 5 cups water
- 6 cups sugar
- orange zest orange slices

• instructions:
- cut the phyllo dough into small pieces ( cubes) and let dehydrate overnight or for faster into your oven in the lowest heat
- into a large pot add the water, the sugar, half of the the zest, the oranges and the cinnamon sticks
- boil covered for about 30’ minutes in medium heat
- in a large bowl add the eggs, the sugar, the oil, the yogurt, the vanilla, the other half of the zest, the baking powder and mix with very well
- when the syrup is ready take about 1 1/2-2 cups from the boiled oranges, pure them and add them into the mixture
- then add the phyllo dough crumbs, mix very well and let them soak for about 10’ minutes
- then transfer into a greased skillet and bake for 30-40’ minutes at 380F ( 180C) or until a toothpick or a knife comes out clean
- when is ready, let rest for about 10-15’ minutes and then cut in pieces
- after you cut in pieces then add the syrup slowly and evenly everywhere
- decorate with the orange slices and allow to fully absorb the syrup
- enjoy the best orange dessert

Hi from Malaysia! I would just like to ask how many grams are 2 packs of phyllo? I have around 1kg worth, is that fine? Also thank you for the recipe, it looks delicious ❤️
