I keep one of these in my truck in a kit mounted on the front passenger headrest. Pull a red tab and it comes off.
Thinking about getting a new one as it's 6 years old. And probably an orange one as well for higher visibility.
Great kit.

Just got my RAT in the mail, you have made an awesome piece of gear, if it hasn't already, then it will save a lot of lives. You should be very proud of this invention.

Just got RATs ordered from US to Thailand days ago and i love it! I’m a law enforcement officer and always carry TQs both on and off duty. Trained in CAT and Soft-t but so far, RAT is the easiest to carry. I use it as a belt on my jeans and with some training it is surprisingly fast to deploy😊

The clinician in me (Physical Therapist Assistant) appreciated the use of a PulseOx to demonstrate the system's effectiveness. I have three ordered and inbound. Thank-you.

What’s the best way to coil or store the RAT? Any tips from the creator or savvy folks out there would be appreciated. Thanks

Great vid. Medical attention is just as important as carrying a firearm. Nobody is invicible

Since the new procedure for EMS/Paramedics is to stop the blood flow to the whole limb, how do you apply this to the main arteries leading to the arms or legs?

I like the rat. The best things about it are the price and the fact that it works on children.

I have one question though, why not make it wider? Would it be hard to get it to stretch? I'm very curious about it.

What about compartment syndrome in between the cord warps and the tissue damage from the cord digging in because it's so thin?

My question is how many people who are shot in the Leg or have some kind of break wear bone is protruding and bleeding profusely are going to lift the severely injured leg up on something to cleanly wrap this tourniquet around the leg? I carry a RATS everyday, everywhere I go. The problem I’ve ran into with is system when drilling it is that if you can’t really move the leg due to pain and the prospect of passing out due to the it’s hard to apply this tourniquet without moving the injured leg. Like I carry a RATS everyday and drill with it everyday. I just feel like that could be a pretty fatal failure point.

01:39 - 01:40 - there is a glitch, that is why you don't have any oxygen detected...

That's pretty damn slick I like it

I'd like to believe that the only things you're going to be worrying about, should you need a tourniquet, is stopping the bleeding and not dying. lmfao There's already a lot of tissue and nerve damage if you need a tourniquet. Survival over all. Cute comments Dr Youtubers.

I bet that tourniquet would be good for small children..looks like it gets smaller than a cat tourniquet

During training we're tightening our CAT:s way deeper than you did on your thigh (sometimes even breaking the twisting rod). But perhaps it doesn't need to be harder than what you did? If so, RATS seems great especially since it would take up less space on our gear.

This gear has been taking a lot of shit lately because folks expect it to do something it's not supposed to. If you're dealing with a gushing arterial bleed/traumatic amputation there's no time to futz around with hook and loop and a twisty-stick. It's the only tourniquet I know of that you can "Rapidly Apply" to yer right arm with your left hand when your right hand is gone, so you have enough blood left in you to yell for yer corpsman, 'cause if ya get too sleepy to call the corpsman, he won't know that you need him to get you a shiny new medically superior tourniquet, give you that syrette of morphine, shove yer stump into a bag of celox and arrange a nice helo ride to battalion triage for a few new bags of blood, some IV push morphine and a good helping of midazolam with a side of fentanyl and a twist of lemon. Just sayin'.
