So who needs a Root Canal Treatment ? Our human tooth is made up of 3 layers. The outermost later is the enamel. The middle layer is dentin and the inner most layer is the pulp. When the tooth gets a cavity or a dental caries initially it affects the enamel layer of the tooth and then it affects the dentinal layer of the tooth. The enamel and the dentinal layer are the non living aneurogeneic and they have no pain status. So dental cavity in the enamel is painless, dental cavity in the dentin is also painless but only whet h dental cavity or the bacterial infection reaches the interior of the tooth then it causes infection of the inner layer of the tooth then it causes inflammation of the very soft, very tender pulpal tissue. That pain is irresistible and unbearable that is when the patient realizes he needs treatment. Pain is the first sign or indication that he needs treatment.
