Another way to achieve this is with a backer board, although this nice also.

Another tip whenever using the Bosche or other threaded tipped bits, though it will take practice, is to just let the bit pull itself through the wood. Once the threaded tip penetrates the other side, it will stop pulling itself through and just spin in place. Then you'll have your mark for the other side.

Again, only let the bit pull itself through. Do not apply extra force.

Also note that this doesn't work every time. Hard spots in wood will also cause the bit to spin in place before the tip penetrates the other side, and force will be needed to get the bit cutting through again, so you'd probably want to utilize the other techniques in this case to avoid mistakes.

This only works where you actually have room to drill from both sides, and it's really only a necessary thing when you actually need or want to have a nicely finished edge hole on both sides, but it isn't really a "secret", because I've been using this method wherever I need to for decades already!...

But this is still a good video for those "noobs" out there who might not know about this method yet, so I still gave it a thumbs up, because it's good info. to "school" everyone who doesn't already know about it!

I figured you would just add a backer board to the unfinished side, drill through and be done with it.

Its weird, I bought Milwaukee spade bits that are very similar to the cheap one you showed, but it actually cuts a VERY clean hole. Maybe they are just really sharp, and not cheap.

Try using Irwin Speedbore bits, much better than spade bits, and they're frequently on sale at Lowe's. Those things are lightning quick and very clean.

You can also put a little block on the back with a clamp to support the pressure of the bit to have a clean hole
