In this video, we’re going to talk about the causes of hair loss on a ketogenic diet. Typically, keto and intermittent fasting increase hair growth. Sometimes, if you're not consuming enough calories you can experience hair loss.

A keto and intermittent fasting diet plan should not be low-calorie. Focus on consuming enough nutrient-dense food, especially protein. If your protein intake is too low, that could be the cause of your hair loss. Sometimes simply increasing the amount of protein you eat at each meal can fix the problem.

During keto adaptation as your body adjusts to fat-burning, your body needs more of certain nutrients. Your need for B vitamins and minerals like potassium increases. Consuming electrolyte powder, nutritional yeast, trace minerals, and 7 to 10 cups of vegetables each day can help ensure that you are meeting these requirements.

Low stomach acid makes it difficult to digest protein. If your hair loss is accompanied by heartburn, indigestion, bloating, and gas, low stomach acid may be causing you to lose hair. Apple cider vinegar and betaine hydrochloride can help.

I have done a lot of research on Keto and or fasting. Dr. Eric Berg knows his stuff! So pretty much when someone changes their diet to the keto diet and or fasting we tend to eat less calories thus not getting enough nutrients and minerals...minerals are super important for hair growth! I have a full head of hair, I honestly started keto and after 3 months I thinned out and lost a lot of was very shocked....I stuck to the keto + fasting diet ( I eat in a 4 hour window ) everyday. Keep this in mind....take fish oil, megadose of biotin, zinc, vit C, B, potassium, turmeric powder capsules, cod liver oil. I then started eating more fatty fish like salmon, if you are not eating lots of vitamins from vegetables there is your reason for hair loss! Write down what you eat and keep dead serious my hair grew back, took 5 months of healthy diet, vitamins ext .. just thought I would be spontaneous and maybe help someone today by writing this book.

After we had our second child, my wife started losing lots of hair, daily to a point she was afraid to start seeing bald spots. I remembered my grandmother mentioning to me about lamb liver and how it used to be prescribed for people that had anemia. I mentioned this to my wife and she tried it for two weeks eating a 4oz portion of lamb liver from a local butcher with garlic, onions, and some seasoning. It worked, her hair stopped falling after the third day and after the two weeks it started regrowing again. Her hair is much stronger and healthier since then.

I consume 85 grams of proteins for 54kg.and four times a week training in the gym. No loss hair and no wrinkles. Vegetables avocado and a lot of extra vergin olive oil. The keto is the best for me👍👩🇮🇹

1.5 months in keto, lost 3 Kgs of fat and maintained muscle and water. I lift Weights, do keto and IF, at the beginning I noticed hair loss but it stopped when I started to hit 0.7 grams of protein per lb, then added a supplement with vitamin D, Magnesium, zinc and another one with Omega3, I'm getting one with biotin tomorrow to be covered. I checked my thiroid before starting Keto and it was fine, I think ppl should do that before starting Keto

This information came at the perfect time . After loosing 100lb with kept and IF people are starting to notice what I have secretly been panicking about . I will keep a closer eye on my protein and calorie intake. I'll also probably throw in some vitamin and minerals to help. I just hate taking pills but I dont like the idea of being bald.

I will say though that I would rather be 100% bald than be 400lbs again.

I did OMAD( one meal a day) and started losing hair and I never got hungry so I didn't eat that much and my hair was falling out all of the time and a lot in the shower. Thanks fo this video.

my hair is falling out 2 from 2 years of Keto until I started adding fulvic minerals supplementation in the morning. My hair grew back thicker and took a lot of the gray out to.

Surprisingly after 5 months Keto, my hair has become thicker and longer than it have been in years prior to starting. Even my hair texture become kinkier than before as it was looser and thinner before. I can say Keto has brought my hair back.

I had lost a patch of hair on back of my head due to fasting (and giving up coffee). It took almost a year to regrow that patch of hair. I think fasting and coffee withdrawals caused too much stress. Now I eat small portions Morning, Noon and night but don't snack between meals whatsoever. And no caffeine. This method is better than IF.

I was doing Vegan Keto & started loosing more hair and noticed this esp on pillow & I have gone back to eating non keto but will re look at Keto IF again.
I felt great on the diet & wondered if the hair loss was due to IF.

I had a surgery and I'm on keto, I'm also post menopausal. What nutrients am I lacking? I eat eggs cheese meat daily. It is not protein that I'm lacking. I take potassium and all kids of oils .

I started losing hair 4 months after a 19 days water fasting. I took the non fortified nutritional yeast for a week and it stopped the hair lost. I believe the synthetic/ fortified vitamin does NOT works the same. Now I only take the nutritional yeast twice a week in the morning when insulin has the most sensitivity because that stuff is so expensive
