Regardless what you think of Newsmax, it’s main demographic are Trump Republicans who are “skeptic about supporting Ukraine” to say the least. If Ryan Macbeth goes there and convinces such people that helping Ukraine is a good thing, results might be positive for the US and Europe.

Ukraine is also strategic in relation to Africa. Ukrainan grain is often exported to Africa couuntries which are often rich in gold silver copper platinum and lithium. Gold silver platinum and copper are used in microprocessors because of high electrical conductivity.lithium is key in batteries for portable electronics. If Russia gains control of Ukraine they can exert pressure on African countries to weaken relations with the west. Thus cutting off access to these vital resources. Another reason why China backs Russia in this war which would cut off tawian who produces more than a third of microprocessors.
We see this already this results with Mali as Mali supplied france with uranium and france is highly dependent on nuclear energy.
