This crochet ribbed beanie is a classic and minimal beanie that looks knit. It doesn't have that thick bunching at the top that crochet ribbed beanies tend to have and this project is great for all crocheters learning this technique. This short and simple crochet beanie pattern will give you a perfect-fitting, stylish beanie to wear when it's cold out!

Homeless, relearned crochet to give me something to do while in the shelter. Got several guys wanting beanies now 😂

I’ve been crocheting for 10 years. Never once have I thought to do the single crochet at the end trick. Genius.

I am learning how to crochet at age 75, and the beanie is my first project. This video is great for a newbie...slower pace, very clear explanations, and very good camera work. I am having a lot of fun learning this new-to-me craft. Thank you so much for making this tutorial. Appreciate you!

Besides showing how to make a slip knot, the step-by-step tutorial was exactly what I needed. You did not go too fast nor too slow.

I only started learning to crochet a few weeks ago, I practised rows and then decided to make this for my first attempt at an item - you made it so easy to follow, so clear and exactly the right pace, thank you so much! My 4 year old daughter is so happy with her (slightly wonky) bright pink beanie 🥰

This is the best instructions I've watched!!! No one shows measurements only stitch counts. I use chunky yarn so I need measurements not counts...thank you!

THANK YOU for a fantastic tutorial! Wow, I'm so impressed with my finished beanie. I had to come back and rewatch all your intricate steps for each phase, and I followed them exactly. I'm so impressed with that seamless join at the end; it turned out perfect. That join was a challenge at first to get it started, but then it fell right into place. I just finished making this beanie for my son who has a 23" head. I used a 5 oz. skein of I Love This Yarn and the I hook. I only did 48 rows, with the 51 chains to start. He has a hard time finding hats to fit his head. I have just enough yarn left over to put a pompom on the top. I got my skein of yarn on sale for $3.49, so with tax this hat cost me $3.66, but because his mom made it especially for him, it's gonna be priceless to him.
Update: I gave him 2 hats for Christmas. The first one with the pompom and the second one without. The SMILE on his face when he put it on his head for the first time was priceless to me! It was actually a nice loose fit for him. I also started another one that was only 45 chains on my 4 hour drive to his home for our Christmas. I finished it when I got there and my 10 yr. old granddaughter claimed it as hers.

I have been crocheting for awhile, but only flat projects like afghans. This is my first beanie and I love this tutorial.! You have the best instructions and so easy to follow! I am not a fan of rounds and this is a cute beanie without all the increases and decreases. The way you designed the flatter top is also genius! I am a new fan of your channel!

Started last night and finished it this morning took me maybe 3-4 hours total time but I'm not a speedy crocheter. Super straightforward to follow and I just tried it on it looks great! Can't wait to give to family on christmas :) Thanks for the tutorial!

This is my first time officially crocheting and I’m so excited. I spent like an hour just figuring out the different stitches and how to count. I hope it turns out well.

Thank you for slowing down and showing how to join the edges. For some reason other people weren’t slowing down and thoroughly explaining the first stitch to join them and that’s exactly where I would get lost. Thank you!

I haven’t crocheted properly for months, I’d say I’m a beginner. I fancied making a beanie as I love to wear them. This tutorial was fantastic, really clear and easy to follow. My version was way too long but it was my first attempt. It still resembles a hat so I’m pleased! Thank you!

Yours is the first YT video I checked for crocheting a beanie. I couldn’t replicate the same, nevertheless, it came out wonderfully. And now, my family has started placing orders from me to crochet for them. Your explanation was very very clear. Thanks a ton!
