The Secret To Unlocking The SCAR-L’s Potential

Today we’re looking at the SCAR-L, and how to build it early! In the video, we’ll put together a SCAR build with good ergonomics, controllable recoil both on vertical and horizontal whilst also being suppressed - and all possible at level 2 traders.

The SCAR’s unique feature is the low horizontal recoil - this can’t just be “bought” on other weapons, so makes it stand out specifically and can be tailored into a really powerful weapon early on in Tarkov’s progression cycle.

Alongside the weapon, we’ll be using M856A1 ammunition which has become even more accessible in patch 0.13 than ever before.

The Scar is my go to when i play 5.56 since the m4 is so jumpy. Even if the rpm isnt that high i like how it handles and the pattern of the recoil

I’m buying the max amount every reset now because I have a sneaking spidey sense type feeling that 856A1 is slightly too good right now and BSG is gonna way overcompensate like they did with M80 and lock it behind LL4 traders.

2:55 i always put the MBUS/Defiance/KAC Folding iron sights because they give 1 ergo each. while it isnt much, it doesnt hurt considering that you dont even pay 10k for the iron sights combined

The "horizontal recoil" you see when firing the gun isn't the same stat shown in the inspection screen, FYI. That "horizontal reocil" stat shown is actually the recoil that pushes the gun forwards. Why forwards? Because BSG. There's literally a single boolean (true/false) they have to flip on server-side to have the recoil go backwards into the shoulder.

What stat that makes gun shoot in a wider pattern is hidden and it's called "dispersion".

I have the feeling your are downplaying the MDR here. The main advantage of the MDR is to have very high ergo from the start, but then you slap the mini monster and a KAC foregrip on it wich is really bad here imo.
Put a saker (even bought from the fea) and a -2% or -3% recoil grip, and you'll see the recoil, including the horizontal recoil, will be much better than the scar's one.
But well I'm kind of an MDR fanboy I guess so idk

SCAR is probably my fav weapon this wipe. Been running it mostly with a shortest barrel for high ergo with the new thor suppressor (its only like 40k and 1 recoil away from meta) with a schmidt and bender 1-8 as they fixed the 1x sensitivity and you don't lose the reticle in the eye relief like you do with the elcan. Also the scar is lighter by like 1kg to the mdr which is kinda dumb since it has lower ergo (I guess bullpup = more ergonomic?)

I used the Scar a lot last wipe and now with the repair ability being a lot better this thing will be a blast again. You can throw a decent build together for not too much money and it’s a fun gun to use even if it’s not the best stats wise

Thanks for the build! How about the AK-101, what do you think? I think has less recoil and can be modded easier at low level traders than the Scar

I prefer the snappiness and feel of the MDR personally. I'm rarely firing in full auto. I prefer tapping for headshots and the MDR is the king of that.

Do the front and rear iron sights not add 1 ergo each? That’s why I usually leave them on.
