I’ve pondered this topic recently.

Incremental progress works for jobs and housing. You have to have a job at all times, and if you’re unemployed you need to take any job just to build momentum, then can make incremental progress towards ideal job.

But in dating, you can’t just date people you’re not into to ‘build momentum.’ Your heart has to be in it.
As counter argument tho, if you set your standards too high you’ll be waiting for a perfect person that may never come. Dilemma made harder for me also because last girl I had a short term relationship with I considered a 10/10, and no recent prospects seem to compare. Guess have to just put self out there, and take a step if seems good, but shouldn’t settle
