I'm in manufacturing. Today I requested a quote for 6000lbs of steel. 8620 alloy to be specific. The quote came back 5% less than what I paid last year at the same time.

The best tools from Harbor Freight come from Taiwan anyway.

Tariffs are definitely affecting HF’s pricing — the new trailer released earlier this year has already gone up from $999 to $1, 299….

Well, the Chinese tariff is now 125%. It's going to change things with Harbor Freight.

I like your typical Harbor Freight content. I have enjoyed many of your videos over the years, and I have saved a good deal of money on some of the deals you have shared with us. However, I must say this video didn't age well. Today is 4/10/2025. I like it when you stick to discussing tools deals. It's obvious you have no idea what you are talking about when discussing tariffs. Before anyone asks, I hold a master's degree in business economics and was an economist with a Wall Street firm for years before becoming an attorney. Tariffs work ONLY when they are narrowly focused on certain industries and targeted based on certain criteria.

As the additional Chinese’s tariff come into play, I expect the American companies to increase their prices as well. Mainly cause they can. More profits for the stockholders. In the end, HF will still be the better buy .

Tariffs during his first term directly impacted the costs for HF tool carts and the prices never came back down; regardless of the made in Cambodia shift. To think they won't raise prices again is just burying your head in the sand.

So i went in today to Harbor Freight, i asked for those Hercules deals like the buy the starter pack and get a tool. The manager said that deal isnt happening anymore because of tariffs 😢. Any one else heard the same or can confirm ?

It's wrong to say buyers will be helped by tariffs, but yes prices won't go up by 10%. Economist generally don't like tariffs, but there could be political gain from using them. But if politicians aren't careful there is an old quote that has wisdom to it: “When goods do not cross borders, soldiers will.”

Video aged like milk. Harbor Freight and everyone else will have fun trying to escape the Tariffs that will hit their alternative product sources that they thought were going to be safe… like Cambodia at 49% and Vietnam at 46%. Taiwan the “favored trade partner” now with 32%. Techtronic industries lost 12% of its stock value on April 3rd and 18% in the last month.

Buckle up and stock up on tools while you can.

I work in manufacturing for a federal contractor. We hired 90 people last year. We have lost so many contracts that we had to lose our profit sharing raises and we’ll probably start laying off and closing departments soon.

I work for an OEM manufacturer and we just announced price increases. Our competitors have done a 10% to 17% increase.

Sorry Bear, your no economists. Most Republicans, & Democrats think for the most part tariffs are A bad idea.

Canada and Mexico merely reiterated that they would comply with the agreements they made with the Biden admin. There weren't any added concessions.

I like the Bear but don't agree with his position. Tariffs are a tax on the consumer, or a loss for the importer full stop. It's up to the importer how much of the additional cost will be passed on to the consumer, some will pass the full 10% some maybe less, some may choose to eat it themselves but why in the hell would they? When I bought an Aluma trailer the last time Donnie Dipshit was in office the ones in inventory were at current prices but anything I ordered was 10% more because of the Aluminum tariff that just went into effect. So not only did pay 10% on the aluminum they added 10% to every item on the electrical, brakes, lights and so on. This is a real example of how tariffs effected me, (cost me an extra $500) not some hypothetical belief that they won't really impact us.

Suppose you want to buy a cheap chainsaw. You have the choice between a $50 made in China or a $75 made in America. If you are shopping for a low price, you buy the Chinese item for $55, paying $5 more in tariff that before. The American company doesn't make a sale, and you still pay more. Welcome to the reality of tariffs.

Companies are going to raise prices and blame tariffs regardless of whether the tariffs are actually affecting them. He's just giving them another excuse. It was the same with the artificial "inflation" they blamed for the blatent price gouging over the last few years.

Of course, the only reason he's talking about tariffs is so that he can take bribes from companies wanting exceptions.
