I tested positive for nickle and titanium allergy. One year ago got a two piece zirconia implant and so far am very happy with it. Back molar

The journal 'Clinical Implant Dentistry' in February 2025 found the 5 year success rate for zirconia implants was only 71%. Extremely poor performance. And frankly we didn't even need that study. We've known for years that a zirconia implant will likely fracture at around 500 newtons of force which is just garbage, and when it does failure it is almost always catastrophic.

Unfortunately some of us are allergic to titanium and have no choice but to go with zerconia in the molars. Maybe it will go well in the end after all!
