How to get a ⭐⭐⭐ Legendary for free

The new set is here, and it's called Magic N' Mayhem! Ice, fire, even bee - this set has it all! And as usual, every set has its own unique mechanic. Remix Rumble brought back the Chosen from Set 4, this time called Headliners. Inkborn Fables introduced us to different champions throughout the game with Encounters. So, what does Set 12 bring to the table? This set's mechanic is relatively simple but offers a lot of room for creativity. Of course, I am talking about Charm - spells that you can purchase from the shop for some gold! Today, we will take a look at one of them, called Polymorph. After purchasing one of three tiers of it from the shop, it transforms a random unit on your board to a unit that costs 1 gold more! You can think of it as a mini version of Recombobulator. So, how exactly can you use it to get the best outcome? Let's find out!

Update: didn't manage to get the normal polymorph 3-1 yet. But i major polymorphed 4 cost 3* 5 times now
Just straight up ridiculous it's not limited to 2* 4 costs

Okay so I tried to replicate your strategies the best I could th elast 3-4 hours while watching some documentaries. Here are my takes:

Getting recombobulater is a nightmare. Even when picking "Beggars can be choosers" (+3 augment rerolls for the next 2), I haven't got recombobulater in two different scenarios. Getting a 3-cost 3* till 3-2 (which is the only opportunity for a silver to appear, when the first is a silver) was impossible for me. The best I could do was 1 cost 3* at 2-5, but not hitting any upgrade 1 cost/2-cost. In my very first game trying this, I easily hit swain 3* with build a buid. And the prismatic party augment. Yikes!


On the other hand, when I picked beggars can be choosers I hit Pandoras Bench, my favourite silver augment. I rolled at lvl 7 and just stacked random 4-cost and eventually hit Nami 3* and Ryze 3. Followed my Morgana 3* and Norra 3* followed by rotating every other hero with Pandoras bench. Hillarious, 10/10 would do agaiin

i once got a game where i was just playing vertical Portal and luckily i manage to hit ryze 3 and the next round i got the polymorph to 5 cost charm i got briar 3 star for free so yeah this set is so fun.

There are many times that I got a chance to 3 star a tier 1 unit but decline to continue it, until I find out this new tech. Gonna try to do this

i just did this in my game, hit a taric 3 and rolled and rolled until i hit major polymorph. sold my board and won with camille

For minor polymorph you don't need to sell all your units, just the 1 gold units.

Just managed to get Build-a-bud Elise into first charm minor poly to get 3* Shyv. Then hit poly again to get 3* kat on 3-1. No recombob in the next augments though. Not even silvers.

that RNG roadblock just ruined me LOL. Managed the build a bud -> minor poly -> poly -> and then failed the recombob. Got 8th due to poor economy from forced rerolls to hit the charms. I'll get this one day tho :)

After trying this for a while, hit build a bud, minor polymorph. Proceeded to not find polymorph but i hit recombob. Pain.

Just tried it and had Bard3 at 3-1, silver augment 3-2 but we did not hit the recombo

News : for TFT Mobile PBE, it can't be play rn, bcs of bug while you first choose augment, it didnt show up, and when you click, it will force close anytime, with this patch note. Sad. 🙂

Thanks for sharing! This is great lol I just started trying to do this.
And just to be sure I understand.. regardless of what method is used to star a unit up, the ONLY way to get a 3* unit to convert into a 4* unit is Recombobulator, right?
