yes i’ve found the best top to match straight leg for us shorties is a completely tucked in, slightly (but not too) loose top. it also works to cuff the jeans just above heeled ankle boots

Great tips! I'm 55 yo and 5'2. It's the concepts (lengthening, pointy toe etc.), not the exact outfits that are so very helpful! I found these wonderful pointy toe heeled, but not sky high boots by Ninewest that I think will be great! They are not ankly boots. I've always worried about my pooch as far as tucking my shirt in but I find that tucking it in and wearing a longer over jacket does the trick. I'll have to check out more on your channel. 😊

I think applying the rule of 2/3rds works here as well. When you have the longer jacket on it goes 2/3 of the way down your body and visually makes you look taller. When you have on the shorter jacket it cut you in half and I agree, it isn’t as flattering. It really helped to see your examples and now I have some ideas to style straight leg jeans!

I totally agree with you on the denim on denim look. It’s not for me. I liked your suggestions. I wear straight legged jeans way more often than skinny. I have really thick legs and don’t find skinny jeans to be flattering on me. I like wearing my straight leg jeans with a fitted top and fitted jacket. One of my go to looks.

Thank u for this video! I find it challenging to find straight leg where the scale is properly made. Meaning the leg is a slimmer cut so it doesn’t look so baggy. I think denim on denim works when you wear a different wash -one dark, one light wash. For a button shirt, unbutton the bottom couple buttons, cross cross ends and tuck into waist. It will give u a fitted, cleaner look.

I agree with your tips in balancing your tops with the straight jeans. I don't agree with skinny jeans looking the best on a petite frame. I realized this when I looked back on photos of myself and like I heard someone else say, skinny jeans on a short girl can make you look like a lollipop.😉I did not realize how much better I looked in straight jeans until I bit the bullet and tried a pair. Now they are my go-to. I feel much more balanced. I am keeping one pair of skinny jeans to wear them with knee high boots. I am just a little over 5ft and larger at top than bottom. So, the straight or flare looks best on me. I am not a very big person either. I do gravitate towards your videos since I am petite also.
