Gosh! Thank you so much, It was my dream to find a lesson on how to analyze complex sentences like this, this was helpful tons! I always struggled when I had to translate more complex sentences like that, I would get lost and wouldn't know what is modifying what or who, I would totally get lost that I just had to use translator, but watching this video really helped tons. thanks!

The thing that got me the most stuck in that long sentence C.Dolly analyses in the second half of the video, is the fact that 私がさくらに話したXYZ actually meant "the XYZ I told Sakura about". I really wondered what it could mean before C.Dolly gave the translation

I do like your videos but to tell you the truth I'm becoming very worried about Alice. The last report we had of her she had fallen down a rabbit-hole. But that was months ago! Surely the poor little girl isn't still stuck down there? I was thinking of reporting her missing to the inu no omawarisan, but as he couldn't even help a lost kitten I'm not sure he would be much use. Please give us an update on Alice!!

I've been studying this language for 6 years and I barely passed N4 2 years ago. Even after watching your videos, my brain just can't make sense of most sentences. Hello and thank you for your videos. Very informative and useful.
I have a question. You said that 私がさくらに話した modifies 日本語ができる留学生 so basically it modifies 留学生. How do we know that in such sentences it modifies 留学生 and not 日本語? Of course in this case I can see that because of context. But what if me and Sakura were talking about some rare language and then I knew that some international student who can speak that language married an olympic champion girl. So if we change 日本語 with for example ナバホ語 will it still be clear that me and Sakura were talking about a student and not about Navajo language? So can we translate sentence 私がさくらに話したナバホ語ができる留学生... as "An international student who can speak that Navajo language I had a talk with Sakura about"? Or it's still clear that 私がさくらに話した modifies 留学生?
I ask because sometimes i see a random manga pic without context and can't understand what modifies what.

Thank you for this amazinig lesson. There is one thing I didn't quite understand. Why couldn't we use が instead of は for 留学生, since he is the doer of the B Engine: 結婚した?
