Snap Modes In Logic For Finer Editing

Hey everyone, today I will show you how you can move regions around for some fine tuning and not have it snap all the time to a place where you don't want the region to go..

Yes you use the fade tool in the arrange window, instead of fading the end of the sample line the two samples up you want to crossfade between.
VERY IMPORTANT the 2 samples need to overlap, then drag the fade tool over where the two meet and it will crossfade it for you.
You can also use the fade tool at the beginning and end of the sample to do the same thing (eliminate any clicks).
The click is when you dont start at a flat part of the sample, so first try and zoom in and look closer at sample

Thanks Adam, your videos help a lot. Is there a way to have regions snap to an adjacent region? Say a region does not end perfectly on the next bar or beat and you just want the next region to snap directly on to the end of it with no gap in between at all? This would help me a lot.

Love your videos Adam, is there a way of chopping a region where your cursor is set...because if I'm in 'division' or 'samples', I worry when grabbing the scissors that i'll not cut right on the line. Is there a button/shortcut I can hit to make an instant chop on the cursor line.

I skipped two snap modes in this video. One, is the Frames, it allows you to edit operations snap to the nearest SMPTE frame. and the other one QF (Quarter Frames) allows you to edit operations snap to the nearest SMPTE quarter frame. This is more for syncing audio with video...

How can I select my cursor precisely on the bars? Every time I want to split midi data I have to snap a few times until it snaps exactly on the grid. With pro tools I don't have this problem. How can I do this in logic?

I really like your tutorial; I want to ask that...sometimes when you record (for example guitars) and made copy and paste to have 2 identical riff I listen a little click (not the metronome) between the 2 samples! I see theres a method on ableton to melt perfectly the 2 samples eliminating the "click"...are there a way to obtain that? thank a lot!

When i edit ads, I'm using purchased music and chopping it up into segments. I'm seldom on the usual predetermined bar lines, like you have demonstrated. When then? How can I drag my sequence of clips and make them all line up and SNAP precisely END on END? Remember, they don't line up with bars (because there are voice overs etc going on). Anybody know exactly what SNAP MODE to use?

The Logic default is that when you hit this symbol \ It will cut whatever region you currently have highlighted. "Split regions by playhead"

hey, do you know how to get the ends of audio regions to snap, it's really annoying having to copy and paste the regions if I want them quantised to the beats rather than just use the loop function
