Haha, I burst out laughing in the first 5 seconds.
I am constantly getting on people for slamming my Bronco's doors. I just don't get it.
*WHAM!!*

Fuel pumps can be interchanged. Our 240 has your "300" style fuel pump currently.

The 240 inline 6 was offered in the trucks from 1965-1974 or 75 and it was the base engine in all f100s and f250s as well as 65-74 ford custom, Galaxie and ltd as the base engine it and the 240 and 300 both have the same cylinder bore however the piston stroke is different

Gotta love the six. Best engine in my opinion for longevity and durability

352 was not a “Y” Block. 352 is an FE family engine. 240 in production through 1974 model year in trucks.

I have a ford truck that came factory with 240 and had that same fuel pump as the 300 the real difference is piston stroke and 10cc more combustion chamber volume on the 300, the piston diameter is the same for 240 and 300

My 1966 f250 with 300 cubic six I inherited from my dad had the screw on filter on the fuel pump. It had it the day he bought it in 1970. Ford had the 352 v8 starting in 1965. In 1968 you could get a 360v8 or 390 v8.

The engine that stepped up from the 300-6 was a 302. Only then did it step up to the 351 and 390

Correct me if im wrong buy the oil pans are different from 240 to 300 as well. Looked up gaskets and they were obviously different

my 1973 F100 was a 240 I-6 with a 3 speed manual. In 1973 Ford had a problem and couldn't make the 240 run with the smog stuff on them. They were late

Both of these engines were bulletproof.

My 300 has the 240 fuel pump and Ford did not have serial numbers on their block. The casting number is pretty much how you can tell when and where it was made as it is the same block used for all inline 6 motors ie 240 250 300 etc etc.I appreciate the video and love these inline 6s but it just didn’t work for me.

Nice pre smog motor, I picked up a 100k 75 and am getting rid of everything smog related. Going with the high flow efi era exhaust and the original intake plugged. Putting a 2 barrel 2150 on it with the adapter. I'm told it ran great and it turns over fine and the spark plugs look great, just on the lean side. Should I pull the head for inspection while it's on the stand?

SO the question is if this is the only EXTERNAL way to tell the difference can the 300 fuel pump be installed on the 240 thus NOT being able to tell??

On our 73... When it was cold... pump it 3 times and catch it when it "fired" If it was warm don't touch the pedal or you would be walking!

I have a 240 in my 1971 F250 that was built in the fall of '71
