VP of Instruction, Nick Clearwater, was featured in the January issue of Golf Digest providing a drill to help with your backswing to hit the ball a little farther. Due to the limited space in the magazine, Clearwater expands on the drill in this video.

Nick - taking lessons at Golftec Scott Twnshp, Pa. (below Pittsburgh). Essentially you are turning around your right side around your anchored left side correct? This looks like The Right Sided Swing Gary Edwin (AUS). This is a very efficient swing limiting extraneous motion.

I see you got some really stupid comments but your main suggestion to keep a Centred Pivot is very Sound. There is no lateral motion in the backswing and I can’t believe anyone still recommends such a motion ( Jimmy Ballard was its main proponent 25 years ago). It then mutated into the concept of “hip bump” an equally destructive action for the pivot. The goal as you know is create the best circular motion for the golf swing. The main principle for the “golf swing” is ANGULAR MOTION.
You have a very good demeanour on camera.

I will have to think through your points on stretching out the spine

My golftec coach suggested this last week. Totally screwed my back and have been hitting nothing but low pull hooks. I do think you need to stay centered but that is probably something I cannot physically do.
