Double Indemnity (1944)

Walter, an insurance agent, has helped Phyllis devise and carry out her plan to kill her rich, old husband. Their goal is to stage the death as an accident to deceive the insurance company and claim the double indemnity payout. Against their expectations, Walter's colleague, Barton, becomes suspicious of the circumstances surrounding the husband's death. As the investigation intensifies, Walter struggles to deal with his growing feelings for Phyllis and the moral implications of their crime.
