I love these - what about the 1925, 1959 and 2016 versions of Ben Hur?

Fun fact,
1973 is closer to 1944 than we are today (2022) to 1991.

great job! I also loved the perfect making of the suite from Rozsa's score. Cobb as Keyes? I gotta watch the Eggar version. Love 'em both! Thank you.

Interesting! Richard Crenna is in the Fred McMurray role in the 1973 TV version.
Crenna appeared in Body Heat, a 1981 film that is essentially this same story, with variations.
In Body Heat he plays the husband.

I was not even aware of this 1973 TV version. I'm blown away.

You really see how the style of cinema changed over the decades with this.

Pre 1960 movies focus on characters exclusively, like theatre.
1960+ movies focus on characters too but the shot tries to tell a story.
Modern movies (cgi age) focus on fx and fancy editing, story and characters are absent. Its not cinema anymore, its product.

How about Alexander Hamilton (1931) vs. Hamilton (2020)?

I didn't know there was a 1973 remake. Just "Body Heat" which was also a remake.

The 1944 is classic art rest are just bunch of actors in front of camera.

Perfect noir (the original) besides "Asphalt Jungle."

Ok. Cars in the 40s were huge. I can see Walter hiding in one, but not the 70s. Please.
