Fathers Day Animation: 'Father and Daughter'

[This is my first attempt at making a sequence of repeating frames, so pleaase please be nice!]

I know it's a little delayed, but I thought I'd post this as a tribute to my late father, Roger. He passed in 2011, and I felt like dedicating a little animation to him for Father's Day.

I sent this to my dad for Father's Day, 2021. He had been fighting ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) for 9 years at that point, and it was hard to buy gifts for him because there wasn't anything that he could really use due to being completely paralyzed. I felt bad for only being able to give him a video, but I thought that this video was very sweet and gave the message I wanted to give him.
He made the choice to enter hospice just a month ago, and passed away. My mom said that the week before he passed away, he played this video over and over again until I came home.

In a letter he had written before he passed, he stated that he loved this video because I had a hat just like the one the little girl wears, and it reminded him of some of his best memories of watching me grow up. Your art gave my dad enormous comfort in his last days.

Thank you for making this video. It meant a lot for me and my family.

I'm so glad I found this. I wanted to make an animation for Father's day since I felt terrible since I didn't do anything special for last year (that includes Mother's day, Mom's birthday, and Dad's birthday) and I really wanted to turn something I really love into a gift. I lost my autistic daughter to suicide at 22 after the breakup of her first relationship. I miss her hugs. This video reminds of how we used to walk hand in hand to the store every time the latest Disney video came out. We were so close. I’ll never see her walk down the aisle or know her as a woman. That ending animation where the father is old is something I can never see.
