Plus, I don't think there's a single person here who has a bad memory about the dwarves. They're nice, hard-working men who helped a girl who had no one else in the world and gave her a place to stay. There's nothing wrong with them, so why change them for these "magical creatures"? It makes no sense.

I never saw the 7 dwarves as lesser in any way. They were just 7 good friends who work together and help people in need sometimes. They were also very short, but that was never actually a core part of their persons, imo.

When my kids were little, there was a tv presenter on a kids channel here in the UK with half an arm and the channel had lots of complaints about it saying it was upsetting their kids. Kids dont notice that kind of thing when they're really young. Its really quite devious the lengths people will go to avoid talking about disabilities.

Peter Dinklage is the Dwayne Johnson of Dwarf actors, he always plays the same type of character & he tries to monopolize the dwarf roles for himself.

The dwarves in SW were more like the ones in LOTR. They weren't the least bit disabled. They mined for gems, carved their own wood furniture, and, after SW was poisoned, they chased the Evil Queen up a cliff to beat her to death!

When I was in college, one of our graduate actors was a little person named Aaron. He was excellent if a bit full of himself at times, but I guess you'd have to be.

In any case he's been cast in shows like Loki.

He was a very dedicated actor and I thought his portrayal of Ebeneezer Scrooge, rooted in a man living through Victorian London with dwarfism, was a unique and humanizing take on the character.
