I mean, according to the Disney lore, Wish is the FIRST EVER story that started all wishes. So it makes sense Disney ramp up the backstory of the magic mirror on the first film to 100th year anniversary.

Fun fact, and the original folktale of Snow White, the mirrors spirit that was trapped within was named Spek. Because that was all that was left of his original form was a speck of himself. And only being a face.

Wish can be considered the prequel to all disney princess movies. Each character represents an ancestor to a character. The main character is literally the fairy god mother or akin to.

I noticed with Wish, a lot of Disney's stories are connected to this one. It's like the beginning of most of the lore that became the classics.

I watched it and immediately clocked all the Snow White parallels. Also the main 7 friends are based on the dwarves, and at the end there's little snow white art bits in the credits.

Wish actually had a lot of connections to other Disney movies. There was one for Peter Pan and Tangled as well as some others. For snow white the 7 friends of the main character were each of the 7 dwarves too.

I think there are just a bunch of easter eggs, tying a lot of disney movies together, because it was made for the 100th anniversary... Like the 7 friends are supposed to represent the 7 dwarves, the 2 people at the end, the one who wants to fly, and the one wants to make a flying device look like Peter Pan and Wendy, the animals represent characters in the Jungle Book and Bambi, Asha gets a fairy godmother wand etc.

Also, Cinderella 's Fairy Godmother is Asha's descendant. Asha was given the same cloak and wand with Fairy Godmother.

The only reason wish had so many Easter eggs to other Disney movies is because it was the 100th year anniversary so they put all of the little hints to every Disney movie in it.
