This is the most out of the box and least expensive conversion I have seen.
For those of us who can’t afford to go buy a new Tesla and just switch bodies I think this is a great video to give ideas!
Thanks a lot!

Good attempt but not without faults as mentioned, enjoyed watching thanks

He did the entire job with crowbar, pair of small pliers and a fork.

I've seen some shadetree shit in my day but this takes the cake! How are the main bearings going to get lubricated? Parasitic drag from trying to turn the heavy unbalanced crankshaft.

good idea ... but you have to take into account several things such as lubrication of the crankshaft, the fact that the time band is not determined for that type of effort and the engine will keep you turning backwards, that causes the transmission to it is the other way around ... I also feel that you have the ability to move the project forward. I'll be waiting to see it work. good luck

My son had a 1997 Geo Metro four-door LSI that was basically a rebadged Suzuki Swift and I must admit those Suzuki engines are bulletproof very good👍

Judging by your engine pulling skills I'd say you're headed in the right direction!

Awesome, you always had briliant idea. Thanks for sharing

Wait, so I can probably just hook my battery to my alternator and let er rip!! Lol Cool idea! I love it!

You will be snapping belts like crazy 😜 once inside a car connected to wheels and loaded up, but ofcourse that depends on the kinda power you aiming for 🤔

Using the block is quite clever, minimal modification needed to fit in the car. Hell even with a v6 block you can easily mount 2 or even 3 electric motors depending on size and spacing

Divergence of imagination and ability, I'm not knocking his imagination.

I really like the idea because it bypasses the need for external engine mounts.

The oil pan issue is legitimate and can probably be solved with rerouting the oil pump over the crank shaft bearings.

I recommend replacing timing sprockets with motorcycle chain sprockets.

I remember back in the 60s and 70s when some people where removing the motors on VW bugs and made a mounting plate to install a C face DC aircraft engine starter motor to the transaxle, they removed the rear seat and put a bank of car batteries in. You might be able to see some information on them from old Mother Earth or popular mechanic mags from back then.

Great effort, though would’ve been better to see how the bolts are removed and the oil drained first. Also thank you so much for holding the camera steady and not waving it and making me sick from motion sickness like some other videos.

I join the other comments to insist that the best and worthy conversion is to volt directly onto gearbox either with clutch of you want to keep it or without clutch. Get rid of weight and other technical n mechanical inconveniences. Which motor are you using and what's the price? Good luck.

You should look into, why all manufacturers install electric motors directly to the wheels or to the transmission in automatic transmission hybrids.

Já que o eixo manivela continua no lugar ele vai precisar ser lubrificado nos mancais fixos, para não haver desgaste nos casquihos.

Mostly brilliant!  Big pulley on motor and small pulley on crank  seems like a torque reduction.  I'm thinking of how those pulleys could/should be reversed.  Big torque reduction means big increase in amperes.  Shorter life of brushes.  Blocking off oil feed to the head would allow retention of oil pump to lube mains, should this thing hold together!
