I've been following this advice since I first heard Pastor Chang say this. I started in February, and I'm in Isaiah chapter 34. It's helped me to be consistent for the last 4 months. This works!

I started to read the bible round about the 20th May and I'm now only at my 3rd book. I was planning to read the full bible in 365 days. But as I started to read I learned that reading the bible isn't about time limits, it is about studying God and through studying Him thoroughly I got to know me. Romans took me almost 2 weeks because as I read I had to look up definitions, as in the meaning in terms of the bible, the Hebrew definition of it. I had to go study the timeline the who's, etc. Thus I agree you shouldn't put a time constraint on the bible or you'll rush through it. But really immerse yourself in it and listen to your Spirit. I would feel sleepy in between and I would go to sleep but I would be dreaming revelations about my walk with God. So the bible isn't just the words you read but there is an abundance of information that filters into your being so allow God's word to sink into you and allow the Holy Spirit to interpret the word to you. Sorry for the long message but I hope this is useful to someone.

Wow!!! I purchased the Ethiopian Bible a couple of months ago months ago and I told myself that I am going to read it from beginning to end. Well I stopped…why….because even though I understand some of it there were major parts I didn’t and so I stopped. Now I know that it isn’t so much about understanding it, but just to read it all in the first round and there after when I read it again I will have a better understanding even if I have to read more additional times from beginning to end.
