What if I scare him off?

I speak with so many of you who have concerns about any part of you scaring a man off...whether it's your beliefs, who you are, your sense of humor...today's video is a short and sweet pep talk for you to remember the TRUTH!

This reminds me of something else I heard that stuck with me: “More communication should make a relationship better, not worse.” Too many times I’ve been worried that talking to a guy or reaching out to him (not 12 times a day lol) or bringing up something will be “too much” or “too needy” or push him away. This is just what I needed to hear!

Love this!!! Agree to you 100% Emily! I come from a culture if you're not married by 23 or 25 the latest there's something wrong... and I'm a bubbly/independent person and was told that I was too much and was intimidating guys ... and I believed it for a while until I gave it to the Lord last year in prayer and surrender that I'm on His timeline and He will find the guy for me that won't be intimidated... literally a few months later I met this lovely guy, who is now my fiancé and we're getting married in August! God is good ladies, and He is faithful, and trusting in His faithfulness and finding rest is honestly the biggest takeaway I have from that season ❤ hope this is encouraging

This is so so so important. Because if you are pretending to be something you’re not or hiding your true self you’re going to eventually be miserable in a marriage. Your true self will eventually come out and if he’s not 100% there for it all (and you for all of his unique qualities) there will be problems!

At this point in my life I have no problem just laying out all the things that I think would scare him off. I’ve “scared off” a couple of guys and while it sucks, it’s always been better for me in the end. I am now dating a wonderful guy who I’ve never been more scared to share things with, but who regularly fights for me and pursues me despite my fears. You ladies are worth that and more.

I really needed to hear this Emily. Thank you! I have difficulty with overanalyzing my actions and every word that I say. This is something that I have become insecure about more recently. Thank you so much for this enlightening pep talk. I’ve always struggled with seeing the beauty in myself. However, your messages have always been a source of hope and a reminder to me of my innate worth which comes from the Lord.

I am quite a chatty and bubbly person which may be an understatement to others 😆. Because of my nature, I’ve always felt that I scare guys I’m attracted to away. Your assurance that they are NOT the person God has called for me has made my day and strengthened my belief that there is indeed nothing wrong with me.

I don't know if it is because of how I am but my approach to people is always honest I mean I do care like will he like this or dislike it, but there's just things in us that 'are'. What I mean is, why hide it? It, being my faith, my hobbies, my worries/insecurities (maybe the last one is for a deeper relationship). I learned that if the way I see life and future life "scares off" a man of stepping up and saying "Maybe I don't feel the same way about it but I want to understand and let's find common ground." It's just as Emily said he's NOT the one for you, and it can happen often sometimes but let them be scared because the man who knows he wants you for the rest of his life won't just see Rapunzel at the top of the tower, he will build a ladder.
