Public Memory and the Ownership of History

Public lecture by independent historian, James M. Masnov. Given on May 17th, 2018 at Western Oregon University in Monmouth, Oregon. The lecture is a talk in three parts: 1. Popular History versus Academic History 2. The historical literacy of college graduates 3. Current debates regarding the removal of controversial historical monuments, followed by Q and A.
