It is heart warming how much a country like Denmark does now to make it as difficult as possible to gain entry. When my wife tried to apply for a visa this week, a new rule was in effect that our marriage certificate is now invalid without a QR code. It is so old that it is handwritten, and QR codes did not even exist back then. She will not be able to visit for a couple of months in 2024 as she has done in previous years, except when there were covid restrictions. And the € 2, 000 spent to arrange air tickets and hotels is wasted. At least it is a triumph for the path that the politicians want to follow now.
