Earth's 5 Largest Visible Impact Craters

While our planet contains more than 100 impact craters, the majority of these have been buried under thick layers of rock. Yet, several large impact craters still remain, where portions on the entirety of them remained exposed on the surface. #impactcraters #geology #short #shorts

Thanks! I am most interested in the impact craters that are implied, but unknown or unclear. An example of this is the crater whose impactor produced the Australasian tektites! The 3.26 billion year old Barberton greenstone spherules in South Africa also imply a possibly 500 kilometer wide impact crater, which was produced by an impactor that was probably 37-58 kilometers wide!

🌱🌏💚 Australia is home to some 30 confirmed craters that formed from the impacts of comets, asteroids, and meteorites. These range in age form a few thousand years to over a billion years. Some of these craters are featured in Aboriginal traditions that describe their formation.

Ie: Woodleigh crater, 120km.

A great meteor Crater is in Arizona. Off the interstate 40 close to Williams Arizona. It's easy to get to and has a visitor center.

Check out Kingsley Lake, Florida, it’s not the biggest, but it’s very cool! Love a white sand lake, fresh water, paradise

there are a lot more..for some reason it's covered up..they all have water in them..even if there is no inlet or mountain snow..the water comes from ringwoodite rock upon pressure of the asteroid impact

The Sudbury Complex is rather distorted to be visible.

What about Sudbury at 130km? I know it’s been squished but it’s still visible in satellite photography.

Can you please make these videos in the format you normally make where it is a rectangle that covers the screen like a normal movie not what we consider filming videos at the wrong angle? Why is the rectangle rotated the wrong way?
