There are more than 150 impact craters on Earth, yet only a select few are well preserved to the extent resembling Meteor Crater in Arizona. Thus, this video showcases the 5 impact craters around the planet which are well preserved today. This list includes Tenoumer Crater in Mauritania, Tswaing Crater in South Africa, and Wolfe Creek Crater in Australia. #shorts #short

Visited meteorite crater in Az on my way to LA in 86. Quite a drive off the main rode. Amazing in person, later in life became an Earth science teacher. Still have my old school pictures.😊

Would be interesting to see a map of all craters on earth.

Impact events are cool. Would you be willing to do a video about shock metamorphism?

Not an impact crater, but I ran down Ubehebe once in the late morning. It was fun. Until I had to climb out in the early afternoon. I made it out of Death Valley alive.

Still haven't given an explanation of the massive circular hole in Western Madagascar that I posted 12 months ago. Surrounding area shows volcanic cones and events. The area I posted looks more like a crater.

None of them are over 6, 000 years old, but some look as if they happened before the flood of Noah, like the wolf creek crater, it' looks filled in and eroded as if it was under water for a time.

Drove past/to meteor crater, arizona in the early 80's with a van full of family and friends. They put in parking lot, gift shop and a toll entrance(state) and charged by individual. We kept on driving though disapointed. If I have been out alone I'd have just drove off into the desert around it, though probably private property. Screw the state.

Every time I see a crater that is so near perfectly round and someone tells me it was formed by a meteor, I just have to ask that they show me the meteor! The chances of a crater being so perfectly round is very, very small. I've never seen a video of a meteor approaching earth at a near perpendicular angle to the impact site, not even anywhere close.

The Carolina Bays deserve a possible mention? Maybe?

I love GeologyHub but I think Gosses Bluff meteorite crater in Northern Territory of Australia is rather beautiful if not preserved. 😊
