I find it hard to believe you don't have more subscribers Robin.... you have a great personality, you know your stuff about Olympus cameras and you have a great way of explaining all the information and tips you give us. I hope Olympus sees and appreciates what you do for their customers. Have an awesome day!

OM-D cameras still have the touch of Mr. Maitani. For example, the On/Off Lever of OM-1 (1972) and OM-2 (1975) is still there with E-M10 Mark II and III. There are many design similarities between OM 1 to 4 film cameras and OM-D cameras, and this is very nice. I wish that Olympus had kept the shutter speed dial ring in front of the camera as it had been with OM film cameras. That was very unique. Many people could find such a design is weird today, but it was very practical indeed.

I'm using Olympus camera since 1978. I started with OM-1 and OM-2 models. Likewise, I took almost a year to choose what camera to buy because of my particular situation: I'm a person with an impaired vision and having a clear and easy to read viewfinder is VERY important to be able to focus. I tried many well branded cameras, including Pentax, Minolta, Canon and Nikon, but only Olympus had this easy to use viewfinder and compact size. Even with that, I had sometime to bracket focus in order to get at least one sharp shot.

In 2012, I got an OM-D E-M5 and in 2020, the OM-D E-m1 Mk III Now, thanks to the intelligent autofocus and hi performance image stabilization that allows me to get in focus shots almost every time ! I am very satisfied with those cameras, and it encourages me to "Go out and take some more photographs". :-) Thank you so much to share all those professionals tricks with us, I very appreciate !

Hi Robin, if I could give you two thumbs up, I'd do it. You always give off so many good vibes in your videos, your spontaneity is really inspiring. I love my Olympus OMD EM10 Mark ii, and I'm really impressed even with the performance of the kit lens. MUCH better lens than my Canon kit lens. Great job, Robin, keep it up!

Thank you Robin! I'm a relative newcomer to M43 and Olympus with my Pen-F and, in the not too distant future an M1-MkIII. This was a great video and I garnered a lot of good information from this. Take care and be safe, healthy!

A friend of mine dropped his OMD camera and the IBIS was jammed. Only way he could get it un-stuck was to remove the battery over night. It then started ul correctly. This happened a good while ago and camera is still working fine.

Great video clip Robin. I already know some of the points you mentioned but did not know how the OM-D came to be. I see there is a comment about the interchange of Panasonic / Lumix and Olympus lenses. Well yes there are some issues with the software so the Panasonic / Lumix stabilisation in the lens will not communicate with the Olympus camera and visa versa. But the answer is simple. Buy an Olympus and a Panasonic / Lumix camera. It is not really necessary for a dual or sync communication between the cameras and lenses when using lenses up to 150mm since the camera stabilisation is still good. It is only really when using telephoto lenses or teleconverter rings that this factor become more important. And hey then use the Panasonic / Lumix with a Panasonic lens or an Olympus with an Olympus lens. Keep on with the video clips really useful.

Thank you Robyn. Being a history buff I appreciate this video as well as the other ones that you have made about the background to the the Olympus cameras and systems. Then being a beginner photographer I also appreciate the 'how to take better photos' videos.

Interesting indeed Robin, thank you. So, no alcohol before flying and now no coffee before photography! I have to add that your genuine affection for Olympus and excellent photographs are powerful brand promotions. I hope Olympus appreciates what you do.

I still have my OM1n SLR and it still works fine although not very often in use. Can't part with it and still one of the best cameras I ever owned and used. Thanks Mr. Maitani.

2:50 They should have stuck with OMD1, OMD5 and OMD10 as you say. No dashes because it messes up internet searches.
