Paris Olympics 2024: Raygun’s breaking performance sparks wild claim

Olympic breakdancer Rachael Gunn, nicknamed ‘Raygun’, has gone viral over her breaking performance at the Paris 2024 Games.

Now, the university lecturer has been accused of aiming for "zero points on purpose", with the aim of going to Paris for "subsidised academic study".

While The Australian Olympic Committee did fund Gunn’s flights to Paris, neither the Australian Sports Commission of Macquarie University contributed to her trip.

Breaking head judge Martin Gilian came out defending her performance, as did Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Sending an athlete to Olympics because their "unique" and not because of their skills should not be encouraged. It's supposed to be the HIGHEST level of sports competition. The difficulty level should be on the top.

No. She didn't win that spot fairly. Judges were incredibly biased since she was already a key member and close friends with most of them. The qualifier event wasn't widely broadcast, mostly isolated to Sydney, where less than 20 b-girls competed. Even after securing her position a year prior, she admitted to not being bothered to train since she can not do power moves... So she clearly didn't show the "have a go" Aussie spirit but complete incompetence.

I know ppl like this… they’ve spent their whole lives in academia and have zero street knowledge. They’ve never lived in the real world so have been shielded in a narcissistic bubble. It’s sad.

Listen, this is a clear case of corruption, the qualifiers were open without advertisement or anything, and the next day they were closed, only very few people knew about the qualifiers and had really short time . Raygun husband is behind all this, he is a fraud, and robbed the 25 thousand dollar prize by giving the victory to Raygun. This is much more serious that the embarrassment due to her dance
