Embattled Olympian Rachael “Raygun” Gunn spoke out for the first time Thursday as the backlash from her breaking Paris Games performance intensifies.

Appearing in an Instagram Video, the Australian — who went viral last week during the Olympics’ inaugural breakdancing competition, where she lost three matches — said she “didn’t realize” what unfolded in Paris “would also open the door to so much hate,” which she called “pretty devastating.”

“Hi everyone, Raygun here. I just want to start by thanking all the people who have supported me, I really appreciate the positivity and I’m glad I was able to bring some joy into your lives, that’s what I hoped,” the 36-year-old Gunn began.

It's not hate, it's ridicule.

Criticism isn't hate, it is what those close to you should have done before you embarrassed yourself

She was the only breakdancer who scored 0 in all her rounds

Shes extremely narcissistic. She is loving being on camera. This is some next level lunacy.

People say "hate" too freely. We're mocking her dance, not hating her.

No one hates you.
People are criticizing your performance and questioning, based on that performance, how you got to the Olympics in the first place. Hate is a strong word and should not be thrown around like this.

The qualified candidates experienced ACTUAL discrimination by being dismissed by her elitism and corruption.

The comments are not hate. It was embarrassing for the Aussie olympic team and for the Olympics overall. You clearly did not belong in the competition.

She stole a spot from someone with real talent. I’ve seen people dance better, in the street, using broken down cardboard boxes. Genuinely. They’d have done better to have just driven into the city, picked up a busking dancer, and had them perform over this insult this woman calls dancing.

She's no position to speak for the breakdancing community

Criticism isnt hate. She made a mockery of people who've trained their whole lives.

People don't like cheaters. It's as simple as that. There were other more qualified Australians and this is just karma.

Please refrain from using the term "other athletes" because that implies you are one too.
