Awesome! Good thing; is that it may be busy at tue end; but you can create alternate tracks and take those tracks out and give editors options. Love watching your videos! In have been doing this awhile and always look for good advice and information

Marlon, this is so helpful, thanks so much. I would love to see you breakdown other successful tracks of yours into their compositional elements? I’m trying to get started in production music but I’m by no means an “accomplished” musician. I can play guitar to an ok level and piano with the assistance of a lot of midi tinkering! It’s easy to therefore be overwhelmed at others’ talent but this highlights that conveying emotions is the key concept to getting placed, rather than musical chops.

Hi Marlon like your guitar track with piano/strings. Good work. And yes as you pointed out sometimes more is less, less is more. If I remember correctly Prince used to stick down lots and lots of ideas/tracks and then just randomly pull tracks out to end up somewhere he didn't expect.

Great advice, as always, Marlon! I often find that when a film soundtrack is too 'heavy' or busy, especially in scenes which don't need it, the music can become distracting and even irritating after a while! I do prefer the 'less is more' approach and a simple line or two with some basic FX (as you've demonstrated) can be all it needs.
