It's a game changer. It's so much simpler to put every music file into one location and organize everything within your preferred DJ system. I do this and use smart crates and hashing genres within Serato.

this is excellent advice for people who have music collections small enough to fit on one hard drive.

This is a great idea! I recently saw another video where a dj deleted his entire dj "collection" in the software so he could start anew. I have been dj'ing for years and now and then VJ'ing but now a place dj often wants to start VJ events and so I have many many videos acoss drives and folders and recently trying to figure out how to organize them. Putting them all in one folder would be most ideal and what I will do. As far as my dj collection at the moment I still have a great amount of new music I have yet to add comments and tags etc before doing such a thing and also trying the rebuilding collection as well from scratch esp over the years of songs I have never played or only got because of an event that need not take up space et al.

So yes for the video collection and a pause for the music collection, since moving anything would just wreck things as noted, and had it happen once.

Great video!!

This has been such a help. My goodness does it help me get rid of duplicates and it's such a nite and day difference how much faster serato loads up

Man, I was thinking about moving all my songs to just 1 folder seeing as I have hundreds of folders and sub folders with songs galore and as I’m finding out, even more dupes than I can manage 😅. Think I’ll make a start tomorrow by bringing my laptop to work with me and doing it during my lunch break

Hi there, i have a question, I have got a denon mc 3000 dj controller, launched in 2012, its pretty old one but it's still works fine. I wanted to ask that should I sell it and get a new one or should I keep using it. I dont have money to buy new one though . Your opinion will be appreciated bro. Thank you.
