I'm getting ready to install some puck lights into an IKEA Kallax bookshelf. It has 8 cubbies that measure in at 13" wide x 13" height x 15" deep. I'm using these shelves to store CDs and eventually plan to add tempered glass shelves(to allow the light to pass through) in the middle of each cubby for additional CD storage. The shelves in gonna add will only 10" deep from the very back, I'm not going to make shelves that fit the entire depth of the cubbies. I'm recessing the glass shelves so each puck light will light up all of my CDs. I also plan to install tempered glass doors with magnetic push-to-release latches in each cubby to protect my CDs. I know all this extra information sounds irrelevant but it's just a precursor to my question.

I'm wondering if there's some kind of equation I need to follow to find the optimal install point for my puck lights, to ensure that everything lights up properly? Should it be closer to the front or more in the middle?

The LEDs are 12v and I've connected them to a smart, single color LED controller to dim and turn on/off from my phone. I've gotten everything setup and working in that regards. I've created a custom wiring harness for connecting the LEDs and I'm going to be using a router to cut out channels for the wires leading to the harness. The only thing I have left to do before installing them is:
1.) find the best location for the lights
2.) measure the distance from the LEDs to the harness and splice in additional wire as these LEDs came with very short wires, somewhere around 8".
Sorry if I am rambling, I've been thinking this project through and this is the part of the project that I'm hung up on, the best spot to install because I didn't intend to move the lights once they're mounted. So I'm here seeing what you would do. Thanks

So, one of my puck lights have a different color even when I press the button for them to both be the same color. What should I do?
