The best thing about Hinduism is that it gives me freedom. No temple visit, No ancient book readings, not following any traditional rituals but still im a Hindu and no one will shame me for being me. Recent attacks on Hinduism made it a little conservative in nature but still im allowed to have my own opinion on almost everything. Proud to be a Hindu.

I believe meditation should be a practice we all do on a daily basis, totally changed my life. I gave up on it like 7 times but once I really understood what worked for me it became so powerful. Wish you all an amazing 2022

Actually, the concept of religion was started by the west.
There isn't a single mention of Hinduism as a religion in Indian ancient texts. Hinduism is basically a "dharma" which means responsibility.
Hinduism is about knowing your responsibilities as a human. It teaches you to love and to respect every form regardless of its nature.

We believe that God is everywhere. He is in every particle. He is smaller than the smallest yet bigger than the biggest.

For the most part this video was decent but it definitely got some things wrong. Eastern thought in general, and specifically Hinduism and Buddhism are not pessimistic. They are entirely optimistic. It’s the West’s notion of pessimism that clouds a more accurate understanding of how Eastern religion is optimistic because escape from suffering is entirely possible and doable.

As a Hindu I’m so happy to see this. There’s a lot people don’t know about Hinduism. Glad school of life made this

Hinduism is a melting point of different philosophies, ideologies & sciences. It embraces difference of thought and diversity. It encourages you to be truly youself without imposing a set of laws upon their followers!

Edit: some HinduPhobe in attacking this noble religion by using unverified arguments. Help 😅

I was watching an amazing podcast by Jason Gregory on Hindu philosophy, and how it is in stark contrast to western individualism and standing out. It will redefine the way people approach life. Eastern religions and philosophy are a goldmine. 🙏

in #4, when you talk about Purusharthas, Kama isn't just sex. Its more general 'pursuit of desire' - otherwise pretty good summary. #2 was bang on. Impressed.

I don't have any religion. I am a Hindu. That's the beauty of Hinduism. It imposes upon you nothing.

As an ex Muslim, I'm glad that I opened my mind to the wisdom from different cultures. Opposed to my past self, I used to turn away from anything about any other religion or culture.
It doesn't matter if it's true or false, all that matters to me is the peace that it will bring to human life.

i always get paranoid when someone tries to explain Sanatan Dharma, as they miss the whole point. Hats off to you, for your open perspective, thats what hinduism is about

I am an inadvertent Hindu. All above makes complete sense to me. I must have it in my soul.

Very interesting, especially #1. I was raised Christian but I have always intuitively believed this to be true. I will research Hinduism more from learning this here.

Wonderful presentation. Hinduism, like others have pointed out, wasn't a religion. It has no founder. It is vast. Indian philosophy has place for every idea imaginable - materialism, atheism, skepticism - it is all about the pursuit of truth and self-realization. The British Raj imported and enforced a sense of 'morality' that regressed Hinduism from a belief system that celebrated sex to one that is stigmatizing it.

Humbled to call myself a hindu, and yet still struggle with many of the practices/beliefs mentioned

It's clear Buddhism got a lot from Hinduism. Always interesting to see how religions, cultures and philosophies influence each other.
