In japan we eat wakame(わかめ), rockweed(岩のり) and nori(のり、海苔). Also we eat sea lettuce (aosa, アオサ), green laver(aonori, 青のり), mozuku(もずく) and sea grapes(umibudou, 海ぶどう). There are very delicious so I hope you get a chance to try it. In parentheses, you’ll find instructions on how to read and write in japanese.

One of the most valuable lessons I've learned as a visually impaired chef, is to taste everything. You can almost always get the same results if you know how something taste.

California has left the chat.

You went to the right place. I used to live near Port Orford. The natural bay is full of seaweed! It's such a pristine area too.

I feel like you guys are watching Taku from "Outdoorcheflife" and just do the same videos as him. He did purple urchins, you guys did purple urchin. He did different types of seaweed, you guys did different types of seaweed. I bet you guys are going to do pickled kelp or different types of plants you can eat next.

Pretty Cool with the Gray and calf checking you out! Fish the kelp beds of San Diego for 20 years in the Navy! Had the whales come right up to the boat before. Look like fun playing in the coves! Miss the cold blue pacific ocean and its critters!

what's up dude! Nice video. I live right by the beach and I love seaweed and always wanted to just try it but never thought it was edible here. Do you know if it's possible in southern california?

Even though Port Orford is a tiny port, I wouldn't harvest anything near someplace with fuel spilling boats.

Kelp & seaweed & algae is best for your thyroids and high in iodine.

Anyone have any recipes other than Asian food? I’m looking for some kind of fusion or a different way to eat it.

I can live off raw seaweed as long as I have a bottle of chojang, gochujang+vinegar+sugar. No one does seaweed like Korean cuisine.
