Pinnacle Studio 20 Ultimate | Timecode Tutorial

Pinnacle Studio 20 Ultimate timecode tutorial. The timecode tutorial for Pinnacle Studio 20 Ultimate will show you how to add a timecode to your videos. Video timecode is used to show when an event taking place in a video occurred. Instead of going back to the video file to see when it was created, timecode displays the time on the screen along with the video. Pinnacle Studio does not import and display the native timecode from source video, but there is Montage template called Timecode which has been added that can accomplish this effect. To use this Montage template, place it on a track above the track in which you want the timecode to appear. Double-click on the template or right-click on it and select Edit Montage. Auto detects the timecode from your current project settings. NTSC is the standard for North America. NTSC Drop Frame compensates for the fact that the NTSC frame rate of 29.97 fps, is .03 fps slower than the nearest whole number frame rate of 30 fps. Timecode can only be represented by whole numbers, so timecode numbers are periodically skipped in the NTSC drop frame setting. PAL is the standard for Europe. The Format options include Time (12h), Time (24h), SMPTE Standard (Timecode Standard), or Frames. The SMPTE Standard is a blend of time and frames. Timeline starts the counter whenever the clip starts on the timeline. Manual allows you to manually enter the start time. Montage clip is a dead option and has no affect on the video. Burn in Bar adds a rectangular background behind the timecode which might be useful if you want to maintain visibility of the timecode with changing background color. Position X adjusts the location of the timecode horizontally. Position Y adjusts the location of the timecode vertically. Size adjusts the size of the font and burn in bar. Once the options are set click OK to exit the Montage Editor.

You are my GO-TO source! I am very grateful that you take time to give us this help. I was very disappointed to "hear" that Corel has "decided to not support" your "'GoFundMe campaign".

Question: Why did you enter the SMPTE Standard time as zero hours, ten minutes, and twenty-seven seconds when the description for the file indicated "Created Friday, April 22, 2016, 10:27 PM"?

Hi Maliek, Great tutorials you have really helped out over the years with the murky world of video editing. I'm not sure if you answer questions but I have followed this tutorial to the point where you say add the montage part but the timecode montage is missing, any ideas? Thanks again for the great advice. Keep it up.

Hey Maliek, your tutorials are great and easy to follow. Just watched the Timecode Tutorial and though I probably won't use that feature too much, it is a nice option. I have a question on another topic though and you might have the answer. Let's say I am creating a video from photos and I have fifty photos and I have put them all on the timeline. Is there a way to change the duration of all of them at the same time. I have tried selecting all of them on the Timeline and accessing the duration tool. However, it only changes one of the images on those selected. Do you know of a way to do this. It would be a great time saver. Thanks and keep up the great work Maliek...

Great Tutorial. How do you find or learn this stuff yourself and how long does it take for you to put it all in a great Tutorial to share it with us. I have learn so much from you. Thank you for your time and hard work.

Hope this is not too dumb of a question but I notice people use AV track two instead of AV track one. What is the difference between 1, 2, 3 and 4 and do you have a tutorial on that. Thank you for all your hard work.

Nice!!! Just trying to figure out how I could use this when editing my sportscast. I would like to know how to put up a running score, not sure if its even practical. Now thst I'm thinking about it, it seems like it would take a lot of editing hours to complete. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks again, Homie.
