It's been a while since anyone commented, but as this is the first ukulele lesson I've taken, I'd like to say I appreciated the demonstration of the chords. I'm 55, soon to retire and travel the world very slowly (circumnavigating the globe by sailboat), so I'll have time to practice. I'm learning the guitar, and after hearing the baritone uke on another channel (sorry), I just loved it's sound and am trying it as well. Thanks for the input, and I'll keep watching.

By the way, with these chords you can play "The Gambler", and while its really hard first thing, if you play it slowly you can hear the song using the chords in this lesson. I was really thrilled to be able to recognize a tune, even if it was badly played, after just a few practices with these chords. Give it a try if you're a Kenny Rogers fan. Hell. Give it a try if you're a Marilyn Manson fan. It's still cool :)

Kevin, I started on the uke in grade 3 and progressed to a 12 string by grade 12, then nothing for way too many years. I rented a baritone last week and here I am, in my 60's and starting over. I truly appreciate your teaching style and video's. I am now crucifying my fingertips to enjoy making music once again.

I have no natural aptitude for music but you have gotten me to the point where I can perform a small amount of the amazing alchemy that is playing music. I am very grateful.

Aloha, and mahalo nui...that was really useful to a guitar player starting to teach his great grandson Ukulele...I'm play Baritone, he's playing tenor...I'm looking forward to future lessons...again many mahalos - Wulf-Eric

Nicely done. I'm an old dyed-in-the-wool guitar/bass player and don't want to get my trained fingers mixed up, so I get my uke and banjo urges satisfied by having a six string uke and a six string banjo, both of which are also tuned EADGBE and are high strung. Both sound lovely and I can play them without thought. I will say that your baritone sounds great and if I was starting out, that is what I would buy.

thank you very much Kevin; excited to have found your great teaching videos!! You don't complicate it with, "too much information" or go too slow, they are perfect!

Thanks Kevin. I learnt a lot from you about playing GCEA tuning on my soprano. Am thinking of tipping my toe into the baritone world so this is super helpful. Many thanks and best wishes

I played guitar for years so bari uke was easy, tenors pretty easy too, just different chords for the same fingerings. Great video for the newbs. 👍👍

Thank you so much for this helpful video! One thing I found out: it is (for me at least) a lot easier to play the A chord placing my index finger between my ringfinger and pinky, i.e. the middle finger on the D-string, the index finger on the G-string and the ringfinger on the B-string. I used to play the A-chord like that when I played the guitar. Although it is a long time ago since I played the guitar, this is still in my fingers'memory. Of course this doesn't work with the B-chord, unfortunately. I need such a lot of practice... Your videos are helping me a lot!
Kindest regards from The Netherlands.

B is a challenge, but a good one. I’ve tried the alternative three finger version but I come back to using what is shown here. I find that it helps to really analyze your finger and hand position, and make full use of any anchor fingers as you transition from another chord.

Thank you. Finally a good tutorial from the beginning. I play piano but needed to know very basics of this instrument and the chords and fingering especially. You rock!
