A big hint slab doesn't block light in mcpe so don't place slabs on top of moob farm try making 10by10 room of slabs and the full blocks, the go inside the roon see which one is darker

Searching in google "spider proofing basic mob grinder" took me absolutely nowhere I found this video randomly while going through useless information on youtube and I am so glad you had a bit with spider proofing as my grinder had 30/72 eitities being spiders stuck on the edges

Mobs spawn but at a really slow rate. It is 100 blocks in the sky and everything is covered by darkness it just spawns one mob every minute. Does switching your game to peaceful then hard help?

hi i made it close to ground but i already lit up all the caves and area around it. i also made it exactly like the tutorial and made an afk spot above to prevent mobs from spawning in hidden caves. it should at least give a few mobs but i have absolutely no mobs even after afking after an hour. i also followed everything u said

Hey, you are replying to all questions so I wanted to ask my doubt.
There is a distance near the player where mobs won’t spawn right? So if u afk near the chest, will it not block the mob spawning completely?

0:53 i knew this was the case thank you for confirming this. I was playing with a friend and i noticed that there were little mobs spawning and i find that usual? And i was right.

I completely restarted the mob farm and made it A LOT taller, seems to be working better. I’ve seen a lot of youtubers mob farms have 40-50 mobs and mine has like 2 every 10 minutes.
