In my career, I have been both a software developer and testing engineer.
If you are young, testing is easier to find a job, while you go to school to learn development.
If the dollar earning value were equal, I would say testing is the much easier career path because you are not dependent on the software code. (C++ or Java) But development does pay much better and testers are treated as junior colleagues.
I am retiring now, but for the last 8 years I was fortunate to find a position as a Sr. Engineer to perform testing on the development team.
The advantages were that I was paid the same as developers, was in on all the development training and strategies, while developing tools to debug applications while they were being compiled and packaged. I also developed an automated parallel interface in Jmeter to simulate most operations during the Builds. (DevOps) This allowed me to catch most coding errors before they made it to the testing teams. It made it easier on the testing teams, knowing the software was stable and reliable, and their job was focused on monitoring the output results. And of course the Development team was pleased because the majority of errors were caught early at package build and runtime, before they could become public to all teams. It also kept some privacy to the developer whenever errors were caught during the build process as negative results were communicated only to those affected by the errors.

In one of the software testing profie i applied and got mail, they ask me to test thaeir web app and create functional testing and non functional testing and ui testing. And ask me to send a report but for non functional testing how can send report to them?
