I would've never expected Blooms of all people, a guy mostly known for covering cartoons, to cover the history of the most devastating tsunamis, an abrupt change, but I'm all here for it honestly.

Then again, PhantomStrider used to talk about cartoons but has kinda phased over to fast food n stuff.

As a norwegian, I can confirm we have a complete lack of seeing warning signs in the mountains. We even made a movie called "Bølgen" (or "The Wave" in english) in 2014 where all scientists in the movie, except for the protagonist, just kinda brush off the warning signs.

Mega Tsunamis get even scarier when you start to look further back in history. Space debris, probably a comet, hit the Indian Ocean at one point and made an absolutely terrifying one. The surrounding continents still bare the scars of that wave miles inland.

I personally like it when you make videos that aren't just about South Park. Keep up the good work.

Not Canadian, but spent a decent amount of time working cruises there and am unsurprised at the article's concern for the salmon. They're a huge local economic and cultural spotlight, and it was always a big deal to go see them crowd the rivers during the spawning window. Though could certainly seem a bit tangental when you're suddenly reminded that Mother Nature could squish you under her watery shoe at any moment 😅

As an avid South Park watcher AND a disaster enthusiast, this is an open and welcome change, I also love hearing about people’s interests as well so this is nice!!

The series title should be “Blooms and his hyper fixations & special interests.”

Please Blooms, I’m BEGGING you to make this an official series. I like the South Park content it’s very well done but I honestly adore this type of stuff 🥰

Megatsunamis aren’t directly died to their mode of occurrence, it really is a size thing. The reasons they occur in fjords so much is because they are extremely thin and deep, so a lot of water is displaced from the incoming rock. That doesn’t mean an underground volcano, tectonic shift, or landslide can’t produce a mega tsunami. Those events typically produce much more energy than rockfall mega tsunamis, but the energy is focused in the fjords better. That’s why they’re so common in those locations.

Dog please do more of these this was funny as hell. Truly loved the transition comedy and tone switch when it was more serious. Super solid and will be back.

I'm so impressed with the quality and just how much I enjoyed this video. It's so hard for creators to break out of what their audience expects of them, but I think you're doing a great job. I can't wait to see more of these types of videos from you!

Never been on your channel before so I’m not familiar with your usual topics, but I really like the way you presented the information, your ease of speech (like you’re talking to a friend), and personality.
Great video. Thanks.

That comparison of MacGregor/Khabib to mega/tsunami is so underrated and accurate lol

The Vajont Dam mega-tsunami has haunted me for years. The first time I saw a documentary on it I thought they had meant to say 250 feet, not meters, I just could not fathom the height of the wave. It's my Roman Empire.

I was the exact same way. The trailer for the movie 2012 HAUNTED me to my core. It was the first ínstense of seeing something horrific I couldn’t look away from.
