Great demo Steve. Lot of new possibilities for my music in the live situation. I think it's an exciting new keyboard with expansive unique live sound morphing range. I always used Logic Pro in the studio anyway, so the lack of sequencer is not an issue for me. I understand Yamahas logic and you can never please everyone. There are enough choices out there now for everyone.

With the 3.0 update that came out end of October (2019) it is now a "full-on workstation". Full sequencing now in line with their older Motifs.

Built in sequencers are largely useless if you have a computer integrated with this machine via usb using Ableton Live to accomplish Above and Beyond what any sequencer could do. I haven't seen any gigging bands using a sequencer. It is all Ableton Live (including my band). I am positive that sequencers will be stripped from most modern keyboards while keeping arpeggiators in place (great to use with backing tracks). The on board sound card can run software backing tracks like Ableton. If anything, I bet that keyboards will beef up their ability to double as an audio interface. It would be easy for a vendor to blow away this keyboard if they integrate a high quality audio interface with diversity.

they would be 2 beasts to have in my studio i guess i'll have to wait till May 2016

Hi Steve... Is there any latency issue in LIVE SET mode..? When I change the tones there is some delay loading...

Steve can you explain the USB audio recording. That sounds similar to a sampler to me. Especially if you can record sound from the inputs. We can manipulate WAV files once they are in the montage, correct.

finally a demonstrator of this board that said it is not a workstation. so we are going backwards with it costing more than a workstation. how many software synths could you buy for 4 grand that would integrate perfectly with your daw? I don't get it.
